Challenge

Junta de Castilla-León wanted a "Digital Magazine" to broadcast general interest information for its educational portal, Educacyl. But there was one caveat: the "Digital Magazine" needed to be oriented towards non-technical users that would divide the content creation process into two parts. The first part would allow users to create the content being shown in the portal. The second part needed to be a tool to that enabled users to easily layout the various content components previously created.

Resolution

With all its prebundled portlets, Liferay Portal was decidely the best candidate. These portlets allowed the user of the "Digital Magazine" to have visual tools for editing their content. Through the CMS, the portal already had tools that separated editing and managing content. Additionally, it was easy to visually apply various layout templates to different parts of the "Digital Magazine."

Thanks to these portlets, the "Digital Magazine" is now an active section of the Educacyl portal. It has a professional look-and-feel yet is easy to use by non-technical people.
